(PRESS RELEASE) – The Department of Infrastructure, Ports, Energy and Labour is reporting significant progress on the Belle Plain Road Reconstruction Project. The project is part of a vigorous capital works programme.
The Belle Plain Road Reconstruction Project will fix a total of 1370 meters of road in Soufriere. The roadwork is expected to last one month and will include the repair of the base and surface of the road.
Civil Engineer attached to the southern office of the Department of Infrastructure, Eddie Persade, said the project is advancing smoothly and the quality of work is up to standard. Meanwhile, commuters are encouraged to traverse the area with caution and obey all the traffic signs, which are posted for guidance and safety.
The Department of Infrastructure is working closely with the contractor and other stakeholders to ensure quality, and the achievement of all project objectives. The Civil Engineer said the aim is to ensure the government and taxpayers receive value for money.
